Who We Are

Nikalas Foundation was conceptualised in 2012 during the centenary celebration of Somalwar Education Society to extend premium educational practices to children who need them the most.

We began with value-adding programmes for marginalized schools and were formally incorporated as a Section 8 company in July 2021 under the leadership of CA Rohit Somalwar.

Through initiatives like Anubhav, Saraav, and Sadhan, we reached more than 15,000 children in just three years.

Director's Message

Director CA Rohit Somalwar
Born out of the 100+ years legacy of Somalwar Education Society, Nikalas Foundation carries forward a tradition of excellence in the field of school education.
While policies like Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, RTE, and ECCE have improved enrolments in the schools and reduced out-of-school children, the real challenge of inadequate foundational skills remains unaddressed. Government has brought in strong transformative frameworks in the form of National Education Policy 2020, NCF reforms, and the NIPUN Bharat Mission. Yet, their success especially for marginalized children depends on the collective efforts from all changemakers.
At Nikalas Foundation, we have embraced these qualitative aspects of school education as our lifelong mission, and we remain deeply committed to creating equal opportunities for less-privileged children across India.
